In the Spotlight
In the Spotlight! features a locally, nationally or internationally known person of color who is making significant contributions to STEM fields, particularly in mathematics. This series is meant to inspire students to develop a greater interest in mathematics and gain insights into career opportunities in the world of mathematics and beyond.
Nathan Alexander, PhD
Dr. Alexander founded the Black Male Mathematics Teacher Project. It is a connector of Black male teachers across all grades and organizations.
He is also working with high school students to use mathematical modeling to highlight and analyze such things in real life as food deserts and gerrymandering.
